About This Tool
ToolsFaction Random Team Generator is a quick way to split a group without arguing over who goes where. It shuffles the names first, then distributes people evenly across the selected number of teams. The tool is useful for classrooms, workshops, party games, sports sessions, study groups, hackathons, and office activities.
How to Use
- Enter names separated by commas, semicolons, tabs, or new lines, select the number of teams, and choose Make Teams. Use Shuffle Again whenever you want a fresh grouping. Duplicate names are removed automatically.
Example
Enter 12 names and choose 3 teams to create three randomized groups of four people each.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the teams balanced?
Yes. People are distributed as evenly as possible, so team sizes differ by no more than one person.
Can I reshuffle the same group?
Yes. Select Shuffle Again to generate a different random arrangement from the current name list.
Does the tool store my participant list?
No. Team generation happens in your browser and the list is not saved by the tool.
