About This Tool

Advanced Image Compressor is a browser-based image optimization tool for reducing image size and dimensions without an upload step. It supports WebP, JPG and PNG output, proportional resizing, quality control and target-size optimization for JPG/WebP. Processing and export happen locally in the browser.

How to Use

  1. Choose or drag an image into the upload area.
  2. Select WebP, JPG or PNG as the output format.
  3. Use Quality mode for direct compression control, or Target file size mode with JPG/WebP.
  4. Optionally set maximum width and height to resize oversized images.
  5. Click Compress Image, review the optimized size and dimensions, then download the result.

Example

A 4 MB, 3000 × 2000 JPG can be resized to a maximum width of 1600 px and exported as WebP at 82% quality. The exact resulting file size depends on the image content and the browser encoder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Image decoding, resizing and encoding are performed locally by your browser.

Which output formats are available?

The tool offers WebP, JPG and PNG output. Actual encoding support depends on your browser.

What does Target file size do?

For JPG and WebP, the tool repeatedly adjusts encoding quality to get as close as practical to the requested size.

Why can the optimized image be larger?

A lossless format, high quality setting, small original file or format conversion can produce a larger result. Try WebP, lower quality or smaller dimensions.

Can I resize without stretching the image?

Yes. Maximum width and height preserve the original aspect ratio.

Does PNG quality work like JPG quality?

No. Browser canvas PNG export is lossless and does not use the quality slider in the same way as JPG or WebP.
