Favicon & App Icon Generator prepares a range of square PNG icons from a single source image. It includes tiny browser-friendly sizes as well as larger touch and web app sizes, so you can check how the same mark behaves from 16 pixels up to 512 pixels. Use Fit inside when you want the whole logo visible, or Fill & crop when the artwork should occupy the available square. Safe padding gives detailed marks a little breathing room, while the background control lets you keep transparency or place the artwork on a solid color. The tool also creates a small browser-tab preview and provides starter HTML for common favicon and touch-icon references. Every generated image is created locally in the browser.
How to Use
- Choose a square logo, symbol or brand image. A large, simple source usually gives the cleanest results at small sizes.
- Choose Fit inside or Fill & crop, adjust safe padding, and decide whether to keep transparency or use a solid background.
- Check the 512-pixel master and 16-pixel browser-tab previews, then click Generate Icon Set.
- Click any generated icon to download that PNG individually, or use the grouped download buttons for favicon sizes, app icons or the full set.
- Copy the suggested HTML and update the file paths if your website stores the generated icons in a different folder.

Why should I check the 16-pixel preview?
Favicons can appear very small in browser tabs. Fine details that look good in a large logo may disappear at that size, so the preview helps you spot artwork that needs a simpler source.
What is the difference between Fit inside and Fill & crop?
Fit inside keeps the full source visible inside the square. Fill & crop fills the available square and can trim parts of a non-square source around the edges.
Can the generated icons keep transparency?
Yes. Leave Keep transparent background enabled. If you turn it off, the chosen background color is drawn behind the source before the PNG is created.
Does this create a favicon.ico file?
This version generates PNG icon files rather than an ICO container. Modern web pages can reference PNG favicons directly, and the tool provides starter link markup for the generated PNG files.
Are my logo and generated icons uploaded anywhere?
No. The source is decoded and the icon PNGs are rendered locally in your browser.
